Are you drinking enough water?? If you watch my stories you know I drink one of these huge yellow cups of water before my coffee or breakfast in the morning and then I have another around lunch. I will have another or if I am working I’ll get a 33 oz water.

I used to never drink water. I would go from coffee to soda to coffee to maybe a water then.

I was tired ALL THE TIME. I thought it was lack of sleep or some kind of depressive state or doing to too much for to many people.

Then I started reading about hydration as I was learning to become a healthier version of myself. I learned all that coffee and soda was probably a big part of my problems.

I was dehydrating myself. So I started drinking 8 glasses of water a day and keeping track of my progress in my planner.

Almost right away I started to feel a difference. As soda and coffee consumption went down my water consumption went up.

I am drink about 100oz a day and if I get less in I can feel it the next day.

Do you drink enough water?? How much in day??

I know easier said then done.

I know it hard with all the perfectly staged social media posts to think I am the only hot mess express out there.

Guess what your not! I am a proud member of the not mess express club.

I mean how can I not be??? I am a mom of two kids, I am my dads primary caregiver and my husband works fulltime with an on call schedule and overtime. I also work part time outside the home and I am working on growing my health and fitness coaching business. Oh and I am really bad at saying no. So I take on way to many things at once.

I am here to tell you today you may not shine like the sun but tomorrow you can as long as you keep trying!

Some days you will rock at whatever you are trying to achieve(even if it just getting out of bed). Or you can be like me.

The other day I thought I was rocking the mom thing. I had the kids doing workbooks, outside activities, an experiment and a craft. I even had my youngest BBF over for the fun. Then while taking C's friend home I realized the time and had to turn around pick up my son and take both girls with me to T's orthodontist appointment. We arrived I was told we were late and that the appointment was at 2pm not 2:15 like I had wrote down.

So I started out shining like the sun. Then hit a snag and it clouded over for minute. Did I let it stop me? Nope I shook off my feelings being inadequate and moved on with my day. I wasn't going to let that hiccup ruin all the good from the day.

Celebrate those days you shine and celebrate those days you don't because when the sun shines again it will be brighter and sweeter!

Your probably like why are you taking a picture with your fridge 🤔

It’s to remind myself that I have to work harder at my relationship with the food inside.

I need to keep this appliance filled with foods that won’t derail my goals.

I need to keep it cleaned out so I don’t have to dig for the foods we need to eat.

I have wanted to change the color of front door since forever! I was reluctant because we have the traditional looking white siding, brick and black shutters. I was afraid that maybe a door color wouldn’t work or stick out to much.

But I decided I don’t care. This is our door at our house and we can do what we want!

I had some @mudpaint leftover from another project and grabbed my paint brush and transformed our front door!

I love it!! Next up changing out those brass lights and mailbox to complete the transformation.
My life summed up in trip to the pharmacy.

Other days I am like I am crazy. I am barely holding it together parenting and then slide in xyz adult caregiving problem to the mix for fun.

I also can not believe I completed this program.

I was scared that I was going to start and then give up since it is such a detailed and regimented program. But I found the opposite true. Having it all laid out for me made it totally doable and I also had the support of a group of other coaches and challengers doing this with me at the same time. I needed that support and accountability. It was nice to have people to listen and chat with about what was going on with myself during these past three weeks. My husband and family were also a huge support! I could have done it without them having my back as well!

I was never hungry and the recipes rocked! I am planning on using a lot of the recipes again and share them with my family. I love that this program was so rich in food and not about starving or drinking just shakes. I am a type 2 Diabetic and I need to eat! Through out these three weeks I monitored my blood sugars and they were always in a good range. I also had my blood pressure taken at my monthly doctors appoint for my Diabetes and it was perfect. something that was slowly creeping up even with exercise.

Week one meals.
Through these three weeks I felt great. I had lots of energy and had some self growth. I had some stressful days and I was able to deal with those without turning to food. I by no means was always perfect on the Reset. I had a few things that were not approved but I did not over do it. I did not eat a excess. I tasted and moved on. That is huge for me! Food has always been crutch and now I see food as fuel not something to help cope with the crazy of my life.

So here are the results 11 lbs and 13 inches are gone!

Now to submit my results to Beachbody and see about my free tshirt for completing this program!

Thanks for reading and all the support over the past 3 weeks!!!

The ultimate Rest is a 21 day reset/detox with lots and lots good food! I feel at this point my body needs this reset.

While I have lost 20 pounds since January I still need to work on my nutrition and I think this will help me lose some of my bad eating habits.

So stay tune for regular updates!

I know I am not the only one that feel this way.

I feel like we are all so over scheduled and then there are the distractions around me that I need to set limits on so I don't fall behind and get you guesses it OVERWHELMED.

So one of the things I put off but love doing is blogging. I am hoping to get better about adding this into my weekly regime. I have been slowly adding things into my day. Once I mastered adding the task I then add another. This is helping me not feel so overwhelmed and if I miss something I remind myself it is okay and I move on.

I have to remember I need to put me first, then my family and then everything else. I want to be healthy so I am around for my kids and I want to have a happy healthy marriage and I want to be a great caregiver to my dad.

No more feeling overwhelmed just keep in focus what is important!

so just a quick post today with the promise to be blogging more!!!

I am going to share with you today my transformation to date. I say to date since my transformation is still in progress.

The transformation picture I am sharing today has a picture from 2011 and one I just took last weekend when I finished the first 4 weeks of Insanity Max:30.

As I look at the picture from 2011 I don't recognize that person. I ask myself a few question How did I let myself get that heavy? How did I let that happen? I promised myself back in October 2009 when I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes I was going to get healthy. Focus on me for once.

Then about a year after that picture was taken I was pregnant with my daughter and I was put on a strict diabetic diet and I had to switch to insulin. I HATED giving myself those shots and the bruising that was all over my belly from those shots. I stuck to the plan gained no weight. I lost weight even.

Then after giving birth and going off the insulin I slowly gained some weight back. Finally January 2014 I had enough of weight gain and talked to my friend who was a Beachbody about T25 and Shakeology. After our talk I knew I needed to take the plunge and order T25 and Shakeology.

A year later and I am so glad I did! My blood work shows my hard work is paying off. My A1C is in pre diabetic range and I was able to lower my cholesterol back into normal range and NOT have to start medication!

I did one round of T25. Then 2 rounds of 21 Day Fix with some Piyo thrown in-between 21DF rounds. The finally this January (2015) I started Insanity Max:30 and if you asked me a year ago if I would do any Insanity program I would have told you you were nuts! But I LOVE this program and most importantly I can do this program (with modification for my knees). I LOVE the meal plan the 21 Day Fix comes with. It is now we now eat 80% of the time.

I am far from done but I can look back at that picture from 2011 and remember how far I have come since that day!

I also remember I am going this to be an example for my children and be around to see them grow!

Yesterday I went to town roasting broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts to go with the chicken I was grilling in the Forman for dinner. I knew I was going to have leftover veggies because I was roasting so many of them. So I starting forming a plan for the leftover veggies and I came up a breakfast burrito.

Broccoli and Cauliflower Breakfast Burrito

1 tsp Olive Oil
1 C Roasted Broccoli and Cauliflower
4 Slices chopped turkey bacon
2 eggs, whisked
1 whole wheat tortilla

Heat olive oil on med high heat in a skillet. Then add veggies and turkey bacon. Cook until heated through about 5-10 minutes. Then add your whisked egg and stir until well combined and egg is cooked. Once cooked place egg/veggie mixture into the tortilla and rolled it up!

You can do this with just about any veggie you have leftover or in the fridge. If you want cheese that can be added too. I didn't add any additional spiced to this burrito because my broccoli and cauliflower was well seasoned when I roasted them the night before with garlic powder, onion powder and pepper.

Best part about this burrito it is 21 Day Fix friendly!

trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-47468243660592517512015-01-26T11:20:00.000-05:002015-01-27T06:08:33.007-05:00It's snowing and I am bored!I am trying really hard today to not eat my way through this snow storm!

In the past I would be baking all kinds of yummy treats and stocked my pantry with chips and diet soda. Instead I hardly have anything to bake with in the pantry. I might be able to scrap together enough flour to make blackberry scones. I have no chips and no soda. I had my groceries delivered yesterday and pick up some extra eggs and carrots to dip but that's it.

So now I am like what am I going to do with my hands to keep busy in-between fights and "I am bored" from the kids.

Well I am going to redo a bookcase!

I discovered a new love of redoing/painting furniture that we have in the house and few things we have picked up at Goodwill. This keeps my hands busy and covered in paint so snacking happens only when I hungry not bored.

Here is a collage of the latest project I did over the past week. It is a toy box my husband picked up at Goodwill for $6.

I used Annie Sloan's Old White, dark wax and soft clear wax. I had to use wood filler to blend the bear back into the wood. I also sanded the dark wax before applying and buffing the soft wax.

I LOVE the way it turned out and can't wait to fill it with C's dress up clothes!

Now this is the piece I will be working on so I am snacking my way through the snowstorm!

Thanks for reading and stay tunes for pictures of the bookcase redo and how we are fairing with the snow!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-87367829692198717522015-01-21T10:04:00.000-05:002015-01-21T10:04:02.370-05:00Spinach Egg Scramble
I made this yummy spinach egg scramble the other day and I wanted to share! I was super easy and the kids even ate it!

We get a weekly CSA (community supported agriculture) and I try to plan our meals according to what is coming that week. We find out on Monday and I pick up on Wednesday. This gives me time to look up recipes or think what I am going to pair with a meal.

We go some fresh spinach and I have been in a egg mood lately so here is my Spinach Egg Scramble.

Spinach Egg Scramble

2 teaspoons of olive oil
1 onion, sliced
4 cups fresh spinach
6 eggs, scrambled
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat the oil in your skillet, then once heated add the onions. Cook the onions until clear and slightly brown about 5 mins. Then add the spinach and a cook until bright green. Stir eggs into the spinach and onions. Keep stirring until eggs are cooked. I split this between 6 servings.

I served this with some bacon and a slice of whole grain bread.

If you are tracking your food with the 21 Day fix meal plan. The containers would be 1 green and 2 reds (with bacon) and 1 yellow if you do a carb/starch.
This was a challenge for me not because of the WHY part it was the video part. I always feel like I am not making sense in my video. I am not getting my message out. So after ripping off the band aid and posting in the Coaching At a Glance group and then the team group page and several people telling I sounded like I was making sense I have decided to share my WHY video.

What help make my decision to post it today is because today is the day I lost my mom 12 years ago to complications from her diabetes and pancreatic cancer. My WHY has a lot to do with that fact I lost her at 22 and she never got to see so many wonderful events in my life and in my brothers life. Losing her (she was 54) made me realize I need to take better care of myself so I can be there for my kids and their future life events.

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in October of 2009 and my cholesterol was great. So I was paralyzed with fear of not being around for my son and any other kids we would have. So I joined the gym and started Weight Watchers. I did ok but something was still missing.

Fast forward to 2012 I got healthy because I was pregnant and lost a bunch weight while pregnant because I was on insulin. I had a beautiful daughter I was feeling great eating well. Then the weight crept back on about a year later. I knew I need to make BIG lifestyle changes. I saw a friend doing great with Beachbody and I knew I need to join her. So I did last January and I am glad I did. My blood work has improved since drinking Shakeology and working out regularly. I am have very little weight loss but I lose weight at a snails pace.

I use inches lost, my energy level and what my blood work says to indicate my success and I have been VERY successful over the past year!

So here is my Why I Became a Beachbody Coach video .

I am hoping by sharing my story I inspire you!

I am sure I have posted this before and if I have it just means it is that good!

One of my favorite egg dishes to make is a Bacon, Mushroom and Kale Frittata.

I make this whenever I am not sure what to make for any meal. I have had it for breakfast lunch and dinner. Plus I love it is all cooked in pan and bakes in the same pan.

Bacon, Mushroom and Kale Frittata

4 strips of bacon

1 onion sliced

1 8oz package of mushrooms(I used steak mushrooms)I cut them into smaller pieces

3 cups of Kale chopped

8 eggs scrambled

1 Teaspoon Garlic powder

Salt and Pepper to taste

1/4 cup cheddar cheese (optional)

Preheat oven to 375

Then place the 4 strips of bacon in a skillet and cook.

Once bacon is cooked remove from skillet and place on a plate with paper towel to absorb the grease. Keep the bacon grease in the skillet.

Add your onions to the skillet cook about 5 minutes (until fragrant). Once the onions are cooked 5 minutes add the mushrooms and cook until the mushroom are soft about 5-10 minutes. Then add the chopped Kale and cook until it is cooked down and bright green about 5 minutes.
Crumble bacon and add to the onions, mushrooms and kale in the skillet. Add your garlic powder, salt and pepper and mix well. Then add scrambled eggs to the skillet cook about 5 minutes, add cheddar cheese and then put the oven safe skillet in the oven and bake at 375 for about 30-40 minutes.

Let sit a few minutes and then cut into 8 slices.

If you are following the Fix meal plan I believe this would be 1 red, 1 green and part of a blue.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-35885596098751332892015-01-05T19:31:00.001-05:002015-01-05T19:31:58.524-05:00Day 1 Insanity Max:30Today was the first day of Insanity Max:30 and I loved it!
It was the craziest 30 minutes of a workout I have even done.
I modified 90% of the workout and I am was still huffing and puffing. My max out time was 6:02. That was about the time Shaun T wanted us down on the floor and I needed to take a few seconds before I got down on the floor.
I loved that there were water breaks and that I could split the screen. One screen with the group working out and the second screen was just he modifier. That helped me keep focus so I can be sure my form was good.
The next thing I LOVE about this program are the food guides. The Nutrition to the Max guild is broken down by the container colors I have been using since the 21 Day Fix came out and I feel in love with that meal plan. It also has a No time to Cook Guide. I am trying really hard not to eat out but with crazy after school schedules it happens. It gives great suggestions to try and what to skip.

I guess the end of summer and beginning of the school year caught up with me. Then before you know it is December.
How does that happen?? How does life pass so fast???
We quick catch up.
T transitioned well this school. You never know how long he will be super anxious about school starting. But he did great and he has a great teacher that gets how bad his anxiety can be on any given day. He is also doing great in school this year. He is also where he needs to be with his reading and he is working hard on getting his writing where it needs to be. Bonus he LOVES math......even the word problem!
C has turned 2! She is busy learning new things ever day and she is totally into destroying anything she can get her little hands on. Two is such a fun age they learn at a rapid rate. Plus the cuteness helps with the forgiving the destructive behavior. I like to think of that behavior as her need to learn how everything works so she must ripe it apart. She loves music and dancing. I can't wait to sign her up for dance class!
Dad is doing well! He loves watching the kids grow and loves it even more when they give me a run for my money!
I am working on getting back on the wagon. I had a back strain put a halt to working out for a bit and then I got lazy with meal planning. But I have learned my lesson I can't eat junk and miss a day drinking Shakeology. I go right back to tummy problems and they are not FUN!
Thanks for stopping by!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-45893922136156780712014-08-06T10:12:00.000-04:002014-08-06T10:12:16.092-04:003 Day RefreshHere goes nothing.....I am staring Beachbody's 3 Day Refresh TODAY!
I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
I am excited because my body needs this reboot after my husband and I's kid free weekend in Philly. Lots of good food and drinks I don't normally partake in were had and my belly is not happy.
I am nervous because its not a lot of protein and I need my protein. I hate the hungry feeling and I am type 2 diabetic. But I have plan! I am going to add in an extra fruit and veggie serving. If I need more I will add another veggie.
Here is a picture of my grocery store haul yesterday to prepare.

I will post about day 1 tomorrow!
I keep telling myself its only 3 days....I can do it!!! trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-61470830326311823392014-07-11T12:15:00.001-04:002014-07-11T12:15:23.829-04:00Why I do this......I thought I would do a little post about why I am so determined to get fit and healthy. The main reason is because I want to be an example to my children and see my children have children.
See 11 years ago on January 16 I lost my mom. She died of congestive heart failure. That was the main factor and the secondary factor was pancreatic cancer. She also was in renal failure and had 2 toes and part of her foot amputated as the results of non healing wound from her out of control diabetes. She was only 54! I was 22 and had no mom and she died pretty much in my 19 year old brothers arms.
I have decided I don't want that to be me and my children. I miss her so much still 11 years later. She was not physically there see me get married or the birth of my children. I like to think she is was there with me those days and may other days. I like to think of her as our guardian angel. that she is always looking down at us and protecting us.
So I have decided I need to put me first when it comes to getting healthy. So we are eating cleaner and training meaner! I want my kids to see my and my husband be the better example. I also want to show others with crazy busy lived you can fit time in to be healthier so I joined Beachbody so I could coach others!
Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings today!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-63469176667296976362014-07-01T13:21:00.001-04:002014-07-01T13:21:35.171-04:00Interruptions Interruptions have been the story of my life the past few weeks. Between Ty being home from school, Matt being off work and dad obsessing about the world cup. Its been rough and yesterday was the worst day for them.
I could not give 100% to my workout yesterday because there were so many interruptions from my one of my kids and my dad.
When I start a workout I try to settle them first so I can have 30 mins to focus of the workout.
Well to that didn't happen yesterday and I felt my motivation dwindle with every new demand and me having to hit pause. But I keep moving forward through the workout and finished.
But am still haven't been able to shake that workout off. I am still frustrated and want a do over. I know I can take it back and I should be proud that I finished.
Today is a new day and I will 100% to my workout today!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-39439550764782051162014-06-21T21:49:00.001-04:002014-06-21T21:49:44.730-04:00It is not all about what the scale says....... So I had my quarterly appointment with my nurse practitioner recently to go over my blood work. I get my blood drawn like clock work every three months to see where my number are for my Type 2 diabetes and they also keep track of my cholesterol because those weren't looking great.
I seriously thought I was going to get bad news and that my A1C was up, my cholesterol was up etc. I actually thought about skipping this quarter so I could try harder over the next few months.
Instead I got a great report bad cholesterol down by 5 and triglycerides down by 10. That means I am back in normal range for those! Plus my fasting blood sugar down by 10, and A1C was the same. I am still considered pre diabetic but it's better then being diabetic like I have been since November 2009.
I was floored. I really was speechless and those that know me I like to talk..... a LOT. It was my AH HA moment the scale doesn't mean squat. I am getting healthier I have proof in my blood work and when I measure myself. I know one day the scale will go down but that is no longer important to me.
This proves that all the extra money I spend to eat clean is working and becoming a Beachbody coach and follow the path of becoming fit is working and no matter how much it costs for whole foods, shakeology, new beachbody fitness programs I buy is all priceless to me as long as my numbers keep going down.trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-14547038079524730702014-04-30T13:26:00.002-04:002014-04-30T13:26:51.398-04:00DerailmentMeaning of derailment noun 1. the act or process of derailing .
Your probably like why is she talking about derailment. Well I its because I allow things that are thrown onto or that blow on my tracks to derail my journey of becoming healthier and finding me while being sandwiched between taking care of my dad, caring for my young family and being a wife to my husband.
I need to break the habit of allowing these events in my life to derail my progress of getting healthy and finding me. I need to move me up to a higher position on my to do/ to take care of list. The ER doctor said it best the other night to me when I sitting in the ER with my dad waiting to hear what was going with him. I was over tired and hacking from my allergies. He told me I have to remember to take of me because I have a lot to take care of myself too. It hit me that maybe I can't wait all night on test results and then go home and function enough to take care of 17 month old while my husband goes to work.
So at 3am I was like ok I need to go and he is good hands with the doc and nurse that were part of the team taking care of him. They had his history and what brought us and if they needed anything else they could call.
Walking way a huge step for me. It was hard because I wouldn't have the control of knowing what's going on at the moment it happens. It was freeing to do it because I learned to let go some of the structure and control I feel I have to have in taking care of all the people that depend on me in my life. I can't split myself in 2 and being in both places where I was needed be.
While walking away was a big step forward I took a few tiny steps backwards. I let the madness and craziness of what was going on derail my good clean eating habits and my exercise program. So I promised myself today that I will not let that happen again! Today is a new day and forward is the only way to go!
Positive is the way I have to be so I can keep moving forward!
Thanks for reading my rambling and I am off to sweat my tail off with my T25 work out and plank challenge today!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-76028994366558428642014-04-22T14:33:00.000-04:002014-04-25T10:10:33.707-04:00Post 21 day fixI finished up the 21 Day Fix 6 pounds down!
Which is huge for me I lose weight slowly and to lose 6 pounds in 21 days has me very happy!
I really liked the program and I look forward to doing it again soon. I even think my husband will like the work outs. I know he enjoyed the food I prepared during the program.
I did not get a picture when I finished. I do have some pictures to post for my before pictures for the next challenge I started yesterday. I really don't see a difference in the pictures from the pictures I took for the 21 Day Fix but I see a big difference in the pictures I posted from December. I am going to work on putting together a collage later of those pictures.
I will post that as soon as I get them and a post together.
As for the challenge that started yesterday it is T25. This will be round 2 for me and so far I am nailing the work outs because I am must stronger and faster! YAY!
Thanks for stopping by for my quick update!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-37647936175032712014-04-15T20:34:00.001-04:002014-04-15T20:34:34.018-04:00Time for a pep talkOk so I was getting down on myself because I feel like it is taking me forever to get results for all the work I have been putting into getting healthier since the beginning of January.
So time for a pep talk.
Since January 6th:
I have lost 7 pounds and over 10 inches all around.
I have consistently worked out 5-6 days a week.
We are eating out way less and mostly clean.
I know I am not going to lose all I need to lose in the matter of days or weeks. It is going to take months maybe a year or more to get down where I want to be.....where I have to be so I can be healthy and around for my family.
So here is to finish this week strong with the 21 Day Fix and getting ready for Focus T25 Challenge group starting on April 21st!
I know I can reach my goals!
Slow and steady wins the race!
Thanks for stopping by for my little pep talk to myself!trish.chamberlainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14486325447758771364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-201328712071261501.post-42555594465724602742014-04-03T14:27:00.001-04:002014-04-03T14:28:27.506-04:0021 Day FixAfter I finishedFocus T25 I was like what am I going to do next?!?!?
I am totally addicted to working out each day and keeping our eating cleaning.
My answer come to me in the form of the new Beachbody program the 21 Day Fix.
This program peaked my interest a food plan that is measured out in containers that are provided and 7 day work out plan. Sounds good to me.
I was like I am in!
I had to wait to get my order which was fine because a challenge group was forming with some of the ladies I meet since starting this weight loss journey and joined Beachbody.
I started Monday and it has been awesome! I had not weighted myself in almost 6 weeks because I gave up on the scale but I got one to see where I was at and what my starting weight was so I would have it to compare to my day 21 weight. I got on the today for the first time since Monday and I am down 3 pounds and about 2 inches already! Hoping I keep close to this pace for the next 17 days!
Here are my before pictures!
