new edition
I meant to post this in Jan but life got in the way. Baby C's hospital picture. She was 7.1 lbs and 19 inches (I think).
Time flies
So its been way to long since I sat down to blog.
Time seems to go rushing by me in a blur of appointments, activities and school stuff for Ty.
It has been a like a full time job working out Ty's needs at school for his dyslexia( they call it something else these days)and his anxiety. He has been making big strides with his anxiety. He is working hard everyday on his congnative behavior therapy. School is going well and he continues to learn and improve with his learning. It just may take him a little longer then some to get things but he gets them at his pace. He has also been woking hard at karate the past year and half. He is already past up to his orange belt. We are proud and most importantly he is proud of himself.
This year has been awesome watching Caitlyn grow and learn it is hard to believe she is going to 1 next week. It seems like yesterday she was still in my belly. She is a very happy little lady. She is always smiling and laughing. She is also every determinded to learn and master new things. I am hoping to get her into some baby story times and a playgroup.
Dad is going well. He enjoys watching the kids grow and play. I can't believe he is going to be 72 in 2014 and it has been 7.5 years since he had his heart attack and stroke. He is an inspirtion.
Some days I think I am nuts for living in this sandwiched life between dad and the kids and then I see them interact with one another and it makes it all worth it!

Trying this blogging thing again
I have tried on and off for years to keep a blog. I have decided let's give it another try.
I am looking forward to the challenge of blogging about events, milestones, craft project, yummy food I make and any other craziness in my life. The biggest thing is to make it here to the blog instead of just putting it on Facebook, twitter or Instagram.
I have a feeling it's going to be a crazy year. I will have a 7 year old, a 71 year old and a newborn. We are planning a trip where we take everyone across the country in a plane with a layover with a dash across the airport. So stay tuned for all the fun of that trip.
More tomorrow!

6 yrs has flown by
Tyler turned 6 on January 23 it is crazy to think he is 6.

It feels like yesterday we were bring him home and learning what little sleep the human body actually needs to get by in a day.
He was a great baby he liked to eat, didn't like to have anything in his diaper and slept pretty well. He wasn't much of a crier or screamer well unless his belly was empty and diaper was full then he was very vocal. Don't give the child anything other then a bottle when he was hungry. He could spit a pacifier across a room faster then a blink of an eye.
He has always been on the adventurous side. Like figuring out how to get out of his crib in his zip up blanket at 18 months, base jumping off his changing table, finding him in the sink and my personal favorite finding in almost on top of the refrigerator. He was a fast and very creative with finding things to climb with and he could and still can find a foot and hand hold on any surface. Needless to say he was a fun toddler!
We are now into the kid years and he has been just a fun! He still has a love for adventure but he has started having some anxiety about things mainly being away from me. But we are working on it and he is doing amazing well. He especially loves the challenges associated with prizes! He is also making big strides in school. He has a bit of a hard time opening up to his teacher since one of anxieties lately is not being perfect.....don't understand where that one is coming from but this past week he has started showing his teacher just how much knowledge he has stored in that head of his.
We are so extremely proud of him. We so happy we have this loving, caring and at times challenging boy in our lives. He keeps us on our toes!

New Toy
One of my Christmas presents this year was a sewing machine. I really, really wanted one. We had one growing up and I remember my mom using it once or twice but never really used it myself. So I decided in 2012 I wanted to learn something new and SEWING was what I wanted to learn to do.
Matt was encouraging of this new endeavor by buying me my first sewing machine! He asked his mom for advice since she is an expert in this area since she has been a quilter for years.
So here is new baby!

I have already taken a basic sewing class at the local Joann's Fabric store with a friend who also got a sewing machine for Christmas.
Here is the project from that class.

Since the pillow cover were so easy to make I have since had several more as seen in this picture!

My next project I want to try is sewing curtains for our living room! Now to find the perfect fabric on sale!
Thanks for stopping by!

Create
The word I picked to live by for 2012 is CREATE.
I am going to CREATE:
A relaxing home environment
Organized living space
Loving home from my family
Beautiful things with my hands
Time for me and just me
Time for me and hubs to connect
I am going to work on creating the life I want to live!
